THE PROJECT

The Grade II listed building sits within a busy pedestrianised town centre with a successful shop residing on the ground floor with redundant ancillary storage on the first floor. Our brief was to maximise the disused first floor area by creating residential flats to ease the demand for centrally located residential accommodation, with architectural concepts produced to check the feasibility of the proposal. Our design challenge was to be sympathetic to the buildings history within its conservation area setting, whilst creating 3 flats to current space standards. Full architectural drawings and reports were produced to submit a listed building and full planning application to the local authority.
